Finals Week

I am the last stretch of the semester until our lovely summer break! I am so excited to not study for once! But I do have to say this semester I learned a great deal about integrating technology in the classroom and how to help English Language Learners. If you did not know, I am pursuing life in the teaching field. It has been a bit difficult to keep faith that I'll get a job in teaching since it is so competitive. Even teachers with years of experience are getting pink slips every year! But it calls me to reflect and decide: is being a teacher simply getting the job entitled "Third Grade Teacher - Ms. Ham" or is it simply using your talents to educate and encourage those around you?

There is a purpose and reason for why I am where I am, although slightly frustrated, I trust in my Lord and God with my future. Please pray for me so it stays that way!

Currently, I am writing a research paper on the effects of digital storyboards and multimedia projects on literacy. Technology is growing fast, and soon it’s going to take over our classrooms. Although there might be a lot of controversy in technology in the classroom, I think it can be a really great idea. You can use cellphones in classroom to get all students to text a response in a classroom discussion rather than simply calling on the same students who enthusiastically raise their hands. Maybe other students want to respond, they just don’t want the entire class to know they have something to say. The question is: how can we meet the needs of all our students?

Ok. I got to get back to working now!
Til our next Hello,
